Frequently asked questions
How are rescue costs regulated in Switzerland in the event of an accident?
In the case of accidents, accident insurance in accordance with the UVG covers the entire costs if the insured person works more than 8 hours per week. There is a gap in cover for people who do not have occupational accident insurance if they work less than 8 hours a week. This applies, for example, to housewives, pensioners, children and pupils/students. Without supplementary insurance, 50% of the rescue costs must be borne by the insured person - regardless of whether an ambulance or helicopter was involved.
