Who covers the costs of an accident abroad?
Accident insurance under the UVG always covers one fifth of your insured annual salary for rescue and recovery costs as well as travel and transport costs (repatriation), up to a maximum of CHF 29,640 (as at 2022).
For example, if you earn CHF 5,500 a month, your annual salary would be CHF 71,500. This means that your rescue, recovery and repatriation costs are covered up to a maximum of CHF 14,300.
